The GMI project participated to the first conference of the LANDCARE MED project held on the 21st of November 2014 at the premises of the Lebanese University in Beirut – Lebanon. The conference focused on treatment of rural waste and the scientific capitalization aspects. Several international representatives, international donors and project managers from 10 other ENPI CBCMED funded projects implemented in the field of environmental sustainability have also participated in order to share the results and good practices of their projects. Moreover academic scientists from Italy, Tunisia and Lebanon have participated to the event and shared their knowledge about the field with the rest of the invitees.
LANDCARE MED has an ambitious goal: to change the current mentality in waste management at the level of the Mediterranean Basin. A revolution in which the citizen is at the center of a project aimed at abolishing the concept of refuse in order to replace it with a more appropriate and sustainable concept of recyclable material.
