The Green MED Initiative project has completed six technical trainings in the 6 different regions involved in the GMI project. The first technical training was held in Tunis (Tunisia) on the 26th of March 2013, followed by the training held in Beirut (Lebanon) on the 5th of April 2013, then in Alexandria (Egypt) on the 11th of April 2013. The technical trainings held in Barcelona (Spain) on the 2nd of May 2013, Rome (Italy) on the 23rd of May 2013, and in Marseille (France) on the 12th of July 2013, were done in partnership with the strategic project SHAAMS. The trainings involved all GMI’s Mediterranean project partners and their external auditors.
The objectives of the technical trainings were mainly to familiarize participants with the main rules of the ENPI CBC MED Programme and of its structure by understanding the role of the JMC, JMA, and JTS; to clarify why & which of the European Union (EU) rules are applicable in the participating countries; to train the participants on the online accounting system (ONCAT); and to understand the role and responsibilities of the auditors.
