RETURNING CANS AND PLASTIC HAS NEVER BEEN SO FUN AND REWARDING!
Tons of used bottles and cans will be collected for recycling from the 163 GMI Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) placed in schools and universities across 5 Mediterranean countries (Egypt-Italy-Lebanon-Spain-Tunisia). The RVMs offer a modern and automated deposit system for collecting, sorting, and handling the return of used beverage containers for recycling or reuse.
When returning their empty containers (cans and plastic bottles), users can get instant rewards based on the regional “Rewards & Challenges” programs specific to each of the regions involved in this project. This approach is a clean and safe tool that motivates students to be more environmentally engaged. The reward schemes make the use of RVMs appealing hence increasing the collection and recycling rates.
These machines are centrally connected via GPRS to an online reporting platform “The GMI E-platform” through which users can create their personal profiles, accumulate points, follow up on their recycling progress, and redeem their points for a variety of rewards!
The GMI project is taking the 3Rs (Reduce,Reuse,Recycle) to a whole new level by adding an extra “R” for REWARD!
